Profound Thoughts of Past Days
(July, 2011)
(7-1-11) If you exercise good judgment, you’ll always be in shape for the rigors of life.
(7-2-11) My son overheard me complaining about an elected official’s use of claptrap and thought I was talking about an infected prostitute.
(7-3-11) More harm has been done by half-truths than all of the lies in the world;
More pain has been caused by the back of the hand than all of the fists that are hurled.
(7-4-11) Happy Birthday, America! Now Grow up!
(7-5-11) Our ability to perceive injustice is directly proportional to our understanding of causality.
(7-6-11) Don’t become passionate about something unless you’re willing to be chained to it.
(7-7-11) Don’t anticipate God’s presence – it already exists in you.
(7-8-11) The Bible says to “Make a joyful noise”. I’m afraid the only thing I can contribute is an ecstatic cacophony.
(7-9-11) There are really zero degrees of separation.
(7-10-11) Dance: the universal language of joy.
(7-11-11) If you’re not sure what to do, laugh.
(7-12-11) It’s so hot outside, the watermelons in my garden are beginning to eat themselves.
(7-13-11) Fools says more about less; the wise says less about more.
(7-14-11) If you miss the brass ring – JUMP!
(7-15-11) Those who claim to have the truth, don’t.
(7-16-11) Variety may be the spice of life, but tradition is its meat and potatoes.
(7-17-11) Resentment is like a hot coal. The longer you hold on to it, the more you get burned.
(7-18-11) No investment has a greater return than unconditional love.
(7-19-11) Politics is the science of saying a great deal about very little.
(7-20-11) Life is far too brief and precious to take anything too seriously.
(7-21-11) Speak 2 a person, not @ them.
(7-22-11) I prayed for patience; now everywhere I turn are long lines.
(7-23-11) The best part of marriage lies between waking up in the morning and going to sleep in the evening.
(7-24-11) Grief stretches the heart so it can hold more love.
(7-25-11) Ben Franklin said that a penny saved is a penny earned. If you save a penny a day, in three years you’ll have enough gas money to take the remaining penny to the bank.
(7-26-11) When you become lost in the moment, you find joy.
(7-27-11) There is no substitute for the music that strums the chords of your heart.
(7-28-11) The best things in life are NOT free. The two best – Love and Freedom – exact the highest toll: our all.
(7-29-11) A good test of where you are in your spiritual growth comes when you hit your thumb with a hammer.
(7-30-11) Life is the brief journey from Home to Home.
(7-31-11) Better is it to run and fall, then never to have run at all.
